I have set up a set of 10 'post-quiz' questions (1attempt only) and included pre-set buttons on the results slide for review and retry.
On my first publish the 'review' button worked and took me through all questions. It is now not working even though I can see the expected triggers in the trigger list. The retry is also not working with the right triggers showing - any ideas what I have done wrong?
Hi - I have worked out what stopped it working – but don’t really understand why! I changed the background of the pass and fail layers – to green and red – that seems to have overlaid the ‘review’ button so it cannot be clicked – not sure why though as it was only a slide background change? I have deleted it, and inserted a new result slide, without a background, and the review button works fine.
Hope that makes sense and you might shed some light on this one
Thanks for getting back to me. Hmm. That is strange. The only thing that comes to mind is that maybe something ended up being pulled to the front on the slide itself, which may have covered it. If you change the background again, does the same thing happen?
How interesting, I just tested this by putting on the background and it happened again - the button seems to be overridden by the background colour and cannot be pressed.
May be a bug? I tried to bring the button to the front, too , and it still wouldn't work.
Not that I'm aware of. However, if we can see the file, I can try to confirm this for you. If it does turn out to be a bug, the more information we have on it, the better. Can you share the file here, with me, or send it using the link in my previous post, please?
The 404 error may actually be due to the size of the file. Is it fairly large? If you're trying to share it here, on the forums, I'm afraid you won't be able to attach a "hefty" file here. The forums were really set up for examples and smaller files. You may have more luck submitting the file to us in a support case (click on that link), though. If you see the same error when uploading to a support case, please let me know. After the case has been submitted, I can share a link that will allow you to share the file directly to the case.
Thanks very much for the information! The course seems to be working properly for me, as it is. But I don't see the changes you mentioned. Can you sell me exactly which review layers you've changed and what method you used to change them? I want to try to make sure I take the same steps to see if I can reproduce this.
It wad the results slide - I clicked on the success layer, and changed the background (right click - format background) to green, then did the same for the failure layer - changing it to red.
When you answer the quiz questions and get to the result (red or green) you cannot click the re-try or review button.
Thanks for getting back to me. I was able to change the background color on the main Review slide (which is the only layer I'm seeing when I take the course and fail or pass). The other layers have triggers to show for specific scores, but I don't see this at the end of the quiz. Are those the ones that you're trying to modify, or the actual background of the question reviews with Correct/Incorrect?
The coloured backgrounds were set in the two layers on the results slide - green for success/red for failure (not the question reviews). Not sure why you cannot see the layers - as I can only see one of the two wen I get to the results slide in play mode.
I'm not entirely sure we're seeing the same thing, so it may be easier if you can show me what's going on. I just sent you a message through your support case. If you can create that screencast using the information I sent and show me exactly what's happening, I'd appreciate it.
Hi again - I managed to record the screens but your online page says:
"After recording, you’ll see a prompt to copy the screencast link. Copy and paste that link into the reply of your support case."
I did not get this prompt and cannot find a way of copying any link (so I have a recording in Storyline but no way of copying it to the post) - any ideas?
Christine has taken another position within Articulate so she doesn't get into the forums as often. I wanted to clarify what you're looking to accomplish (and it may be helpful if you can share your .story file here with us) -
1. On the first attempt at the quiz, you'd like your users to receive no correct/incorrect notice
2. Once they complete the quiz, they have the option to take it again if their score was not high enough, passing, etc.
3. While retrying the quiz, after the user answers you'd like them to see specific feedback explaining each answer
The most common way I've seen of doing this, is to provide the explanations during a review of the course as shown here. If you're looking for something different, let us know.

Hi Mike!
Without seeing the file, it's difficult to say. Has the order for the triggers changed? Has anything else with the review slide been modified?
Also, are you able to share the .STORY file for the project here, so I can take a look? You're also welcome to send the file to us privately.
Thanks!

Hi again Christine - I tried to upload the file but got a 404 message which my IT guys here think is a problemn at your end?
I tried the other link but couldn't see how to upload the file either.
Any way to get the file to you away from the blog?
Good morning Mike!

Hi Mike,
Did you see the window that asks for your name, email, etc.? Or did you not get that far?
If you created the screencast in a .STORY file, you can try to upload that to the case, if you'd prefer. Try uploading it with this link.
If you can reply to the case email afterwords, just to let me know you uploaded the file, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
Hi Christine - I have sent it via the link you supplied.

Mike
Good morning Mike!
I got the file, thank you very much. I just sent a response with a recording through the case email.
Please have a look when you get a chance.
Thanks!
