Quiz Review - Red Incorrect Banner

Aug 13, 2013

Normally our company doesn't use the quiz review function; however I have a request for that on this project.

We are seeing a red 'Incorrect' Banner at the bottom of the review slides for all questions, regardless of how the user answered them.

  • Wondering how this can be removed...
  • Why is it there?
  • What settings control it.

Also... want to know if a user selects to review the quiz, can they go back and retake it again afterwards?
It seems to not allow that... is there a way to allow it?

Hi Mary Beth,

Within Storyline you can update these by using the "Edit Results Slide" and clicking on the Other tab will bring you to a screen such as below. You'll see in my example, I've allowed users to review the quiz and show correct/incorrect responses, which you could check off the latter if you preferred. The ability to retry the quiz is at the bottom of the list of items below.

You can also customize the information given to the user during the Quiz review by following the steps outlined here.

Hi Ashley and Mary Beth,

Actually, I don't believe those banners can be turned off. See this thread...especially on July 11th, 2012 the question from Jennifer Bircher and the reponse from Super Hero Steve Flowers. There are some workarounds discussed here, but turning them off isn't an option.

I don't believe that "show correct/incorrect responses" checkbox removes the banner. It DOES remove the little checkmark that appears beside the correct answer when quizzes are reviewed.

I just tried this myself, since those posts are over a year old, and the banners didn't go away for me. If I misunderstood the question, or if I'm not doing this properly, please let me know...and apologies.

All,

How can you get the burgundy banner to be green when the question is answered correctly? I set up everthing to allow reviewing the quiz and showing correct/incorrect responses upon review, but every question shows as incorrect, even when correct. So for now I just hid that banner by covering it with a nav bar (we are using custom player controls) and I have feedback in a text box. But it would be nice for the learner to know/see which ones they missed.

And the scoring is working, so that's not it.

Thanks.

Amy

Hello everyone! In Mary Beth's original post she wrote "We are seeing a red 'Incorrect' Banner at the bottom of the review slides for all questions, regardless of how the user answered them."

I have created several quizzes that worked perfectly, and then this morning on my last quiz for a project, I am getting the same issue Mary Beth posted... we are seeing the red 'incorrect' banner even when the learner answered the question correctly. Help!

Hi Everyone,

Having some strange issues with these Correct/Incorrect bars at the bottom of the page when you review the quiz the end user just did.

After reading everyone's answers, i tried out a few of them, like adjusting the feedback bar in the feed master ( the blue box) to hide it and switch off show correct/incorrect response when reviewing in the result edit page.

When i go into preview mode, it isn't there and shows the correct or incorrect response box, BUT, when i publish it and added into Moodle, the green and red review quiz boxes show.

I am using Articulate 2, just wondering if there away to hide these bars, my client is very picky on these bars and i just want to know away to remove them.

Thanks,

Hi Michelle,

If you don't see it in preview, you shouldn't be seeing it within the published output. Perhaps you had previously uploaded a copy of this course to Moodle with the review bars and are still viewing that cached version of it? You could confirm this by looking at the course in a new browser, or clearing the cache of your current browser, or lastly you could also look at uploading the course to SCORM Cloud which is an industry standard for viewing LMS content. This article also will walk you through troubleshooting steps at SCORM Cloud.

Hi, everyone.

We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 65, we've included important fixes and new features.

One of the features we've included is:

Define theme colors for correct and incorrect quiz elements, such as icons and review banners, to keep your designs consistent.

To take advantage of this feature, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let us know if you have any questions by posting here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.
