Quiz scores not working properly

Apr 03, 2017

Hi everyone. I'm fairly new to Storyline and am having issues with some of the quizzes.

I have 6 knowledge checks throughout a training. At the end users need an average of 70% passing across all knowledge checks.

Right now each knowledge check produces a summary results slide at the end of the quiz and gives their grade for that quiz and then there is a summary slide at the very end that gives a passing score based on all questions across all quizzes.

The numbers at the end are fine, but the percentages along the way get weird, in some cases saying someone passed but got no questions correct (see screenshot). Any ideas what might be off?

TIA for any and all help!

Welcome to the community, Traci! Glad to have you. :)

If you'd like us to take a peek inside your quizzes to see what could be causing this wonky scoring on your results slides, you're always welcome to share your file. You can attach it here in the thread by using the ADD ATTACHMENT button, or you can send it directly to our Support Engineers here if you’d prefer to send it privately.

Hi Articulate support,

I have created a test consisting of 20 questions, but the result slide doesn't register all the right answers. I took the test multiple times, ticking all the correct boxes, but I never reach 100%. Sometimes it is 18 correct, sometimes 19, but never 20. What can be the matter?

Could you take a look at my file? Thanks!

Hi, Dre.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your .story file!

In your question bank, I noticed two questions with icons that you are using in place of the written answers. However, since you also chose to shuffle the answers, the icons don't always match the correct radio button.

My suggestion would be to remove the shuffle feature from those two questions.

I was able to get 100% correct after removing the shuffle from those questions.

Let me know if this works!

Hi Maria,

Thank you! As the results kept changing I was almost ready to have myself committed... :~)

Why don’t you restrict the shuffle feature to the radio buttons? Then you won’t get this problem any more, right?
