Quiz type numeric in storyline is broken
Mar 05, 2020
I'm using the simple numeric quiz question and it won't work - sometimes if I enter multiple times or more than single digit answers it will, when I export this to D2L same thing
If I click the submit checkbox (lower right) or ENTER nothing happens!
this no work
this no work
The issue seems to be it accepts 2 digit but not 1 digit numbers - if you fiddle around and add/delete digits sometimes you can get it - as a developer I'd guess the "box character index" when the element is rendered is off or set to -1, show this to a developer at Articulate
Tried all permutations of "Answer is correct" - eventually it takes it but the answer is wrong because I'm just entering junk - let me also ask how do you screen out non-numeric entry - are you using a regex in the background? I've built a demo and for now I'm saying we can't use numeric quiz questions.

Hi Tom,
That is odd! The numeric entry question should be submitting the answer that is input. I recreated a similar project on my side; however, I am not able to replicate the issue. Could I have you try testing the sample course I created (attached to my comment) to see if the problem persists?
Also, if you can share the project file you were working on, I am more than happy to help! You can share files in this thread using the Add Attachment button, or you're always welcome to share it privately here. I'll let you know my findings and will delete the file after having a closer look!
Hi - your's works, I have a checkbox icon for submit, not the SUBMIT icon?
It takes 2 numerals, doesn't seem to like single

Thank you for sharing your file with me! I reviewed the course and did find that that Numeric Entry would not advance. I noticed the setup for the questions do not have feedback layers (Correct, Incorrect, etc.).
Since the design is to exclude Feedback layers, I went to the Design Tab for the Numeric Entry question and changed the Feedback settings from By Question to None:
After making that change, the course now allows me to progress after entering in my answer:
This fixed my error - thank you!
Thanks for popping back in to share the solution with the community, Tom :)
