Quizzer: Incorrect Feedback -- Layouts and Master change??

Jan 05, 2013

I'm still not able to get in the Multiple Choice Quizzer:  Incorrect Feedback
Layout change (I must be dense)
Okay I get the question going and call up the "Incorrect" answer (bottom right)
then I select "edit" from the upper right Feedback Master (this is where I get lost)
So I move things and edit it changing the color of fonts etc.
Somehow it’s not saving what I changed.
Now what do I do?
I don't know how to save it and then call it back
up when doing the next question.

I don't think I understand the relationship of a Master to the many many
layouts under the Master. Many of the layouts under the master seem
they are only partial and I’m not sure how to save and retrieve them and
how that relates to the master.  Do I have to make a new Master and then
how do I get it to link up with the "Inorrect" feedback for the Multi-choice
question response?
Still unable to "save" the layout and retrieve it easily.

Help!?

Hey Ted,

You're in the right spot. Sometimes after editing a Master Slide you have to *reset* it. Right click on your slide > choose Layouts > click on the recently edited Master Slide. Sorta like giving it an nudge.

Be sure you're editing the "Incorrect Feedback" Master Slide. Typical Master Slides for an interaction are:

  • The Main Slide Master - this holds the grey box that appears for feedback
  • Correct layout
  • Incorrect layout
  • Try Again layout
  • Review layout
  • Thank You layout
  • Blank.

You can add more if you need. If I have multiple interactions and one particular one needs a bit of tweaking, I make a duplicate of the appropriate Master slide layout so as not to change an existing interaction's feedback.

Once duplicated, make any changes to the size of the feedback box, colors, fonts, etc. as you need.

The key thing is to ensure you change layout to the new design. Once you close out of editing the interaction Master Slides, right click on your interaction's slide > Layout > choose the new layout you just made.

Keep in mind you don't have to duplicate any of those feedback layouts. If you edit the existing ones just know ALL interactions in your course will have those new changes.

Kevin, is there a reason that when I select the master slide from the drop-down menu for the appropriate layer, that it doesn't stick to the project.  What's interesting is that if I close the project and then come back to it, the slide master's are still the old ones for those layers.  I even tried your suggestion for right-clicking and choosing the layout that way but it still reverts back to the old ones. What's the deal?
