Quizzing - numeric values min and max

May 11, 2020

Hello, I want to make a quiz question that will analyze the results of two variables. The question will be something like: what is the minimum and maximum acceptable values?, and the answer will necessitate two text fields, where field 1 should be greater than or equal to, and field 2 less than or equal to. Is this possible?

Hi William!

Setting the min and max score for a quiz isn't a feature in Storyline as it is already set from 0% to 100%.

However, I can see how this can be configured in Storyline with the use of variables tracking the score manually. I'm sure we have a community member who has built a similar interaction, so I'll hand it over to them to offer specific advice!

Please feel free to share what you end up using! I'm eager to see this type of scoring in action.

Hello, thanks for your reply. It seems that I didn't make my question clear. I'm not talking about scoring of a series of questions in a test, I'm talking about a single question. Example: "What is the minimum and maximum amount of laser power that is acceptable for passing the Quality Check? Minimum = ____? Maximum = ____?"

I have a few questions like this and would like to have the user put the answers on the same slide, instead of splitting into two slides.
I hope it's clear...

There is no default question  type for this, you could use a pick one question with two hidden radio buttons where incorrect option is selected by default and you have two triggers on submit button.

  1. changes correct radio button to selected on condition that var1 = yourValue and var2 = yourOtherValue
  2. Submit interactions
