Re-Publishing Storyline
Mar 18, 2013
When you change, save, and re-publish the same storyline file does it save the output to a different filename each time and only updates the changes files? I recently changed the flash setting to be managed by the course and when I re-publish the course it does not appear to be creating a different output folder that contains the revisions. When we move the folder to the LMS production location it does not puckup the changes. Yet, if I rename the course title and publish it, a new output folder appears to be created and it tests correctly in the TEST area of the LMS. Can someone help me understand how re-publishing the same course works and where the revised output files are stored? Thank you.

Hi Patrick. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
When you save the course and republish the files, it should overwrite the previous content in that course. If you change the directory or the name, if may create new files.
If your files aren't updating when you publish again, try to make sure the project files are located on your local hard drive.
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.
If the content isn't updating on your LMS after uploading, try clearing your browser cache and see if you're able to view the new content when refreshing the course.

Hi! We are attempting to re-publish a training created in Storyline. The updated training is not re-publishing the updated version as I cannot view the changes that were incorporated when I go into my test account. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Publish to a new folder perhaps. The old files may be cached in a corporate proxy server, maybe your browser.
