Re Storyline not fitting in IOS7 Safari first discussed Sep 2013.

Apr 21, 2014

We recently moved to Adobe Connect and I’m trying to upload some of our older Storyline courses for viewing on iPad via Safari.   I have Storyline version Update 5. 1401 2415 which should include fix for the HTML5 content not fitting into the Safari browser window properly.  When I view my files In iPad portrait, the entire player appears in middle of screen.  However, if you move the ipad at all, the screen enlarges and am unable to return it to normal size.  If opened in landscape, you cannot see the bottom of the player and the player is butted up against the right corner instead of being centered.

Storyline size is set at the 720 x 540

Browser size:  Display at user’s current browser size

Player size:  Scale player to fill browser window

Am I missing something that needs to be changed to ensure fit in iPad Safari?

Hi Virginia,

Does Adobe Connect display content within an iFrame? If so, there is a known issue right now where content displayed in an iFrame has scaling or resizing issues while viewed on the iPad.  It's something our team is aware of, and working on a fix for, but since all LMS's can have different player setups, it's also worth checking in with your LMS team to see if there is a way to force it to not display in an iFrame. If you're unsure if this is the case, you may want to test your course at SCORM Cloud, an industry standard for testing SCORM content, and see how that version displays on your iPad.

Hi Virginia,

I don't have a time frame to offer in regards to when this would be included or when the next update/version will be released, but we've let our team know that this is a critical issue. I'll add this thread to the current report with our QA team so that when I have additional information to share I can post it here for you.

Hi Jimmy,

I've heard varying reports about Moodle's newer versions and if this problem still exists for Moodle. Have you looked into the Moodle forums to see if anyone has shared updates there as well about dealing with this issue? I know our team is aware of it, and has been working on potential fixes for it but since everyone LMS is different it'll also depend on how the LMS player is set up so it's worth checking into it from both angles.

Thanks Ashley, I know things change so fast and to fit every LMS is definitely not easy. Just want to share below:

For iPad (iOS device), the Storyline (Moodle - Scorm package) is still display out of the iPad screen when it is in Landscape view. No problem for the portrait view.

Whenever flip the iPad into portrait view, the content is fit well in the center of the iPad screen, but for landscape, the Scorm activity is just too big which cut-off half of the right content of the activity.

This Moodle Problem has been found in many many post, known as 2.6 & 2.7 problem.

There was no problem at all when we using the Moodle 2.1 & Storyline - Version 5, the problem comes out when we upgraded to Moodle 2.7 right now.

I cannot conclude whether it is problem on Moodle upgrade or Articulate response or even Apple iOS upgrade problem. Hope each of us can give the effort to fix it soon.
