Re-try quiz - quiz slide not returning to initial state in published output
Dec 11, 2015
I have a course which has questions at the end of each section.
The user will go through each question (some have multiple attempts) then at end of each batch of questions a result slide is shown.
The results slide has the option to re-try the quiz (this button also resets the result slide)
Each quiz slide has been set to advance by user, and resume initial state. I have used both standard and my own Submit button.
When previewing within Storyline 2 - everything works as expected.
But when viewing the published output in a browser and I attempt to re-try the quiz each slide is locked down and the answer can not be chosen.
I have published with seekbar on and off - if the seekbar is on, once the timeline ends and I click the play button again, the responses become active.
Not sure why this would act differently when published than when previewing?
Any ideas?

Hi Ric!
Would you be able to share your .story file so that we could take a look?
Hi Leslie - I am unable to share the course due to client confidentiality - There is no reason why it would work in preview but not in published version - surely this must have come up before - I need an urgent answer
well I - cant share it publically
Hi Ric
maybe you should log a support ticket with Articulate - they can sign an NDA if you need one - log here
Your right. this should not be giving different results. Can you confirm if you have the menu restricted. If unrestricted it and confirm that the issue persist or not
In Storyline 2 navigation cannot happen until time lines ends if you restrict the menu. In your case you are navigating even though it is a knowledge check. Solution would be to shorten time line as short as possible.
Let us know if this is the culprit
Menu is 'Free' already
Timeline is 3 seconds for all quiz slides
Each Quiz should be resume saved state. Reseting results would in turn reset them. However this wouldn't explain the difference between preview and your LMS. Anyway you can give us a section if your course gut the textual content due to privacy issues. We would be happy to look at it for you. I am sure we can resolve your issue faster.
looks like I've solved the problem - I didn't have the reset results trigger on the review content button - why it resets in the preview mode is strange - thanks for your help
Hi, Ric -- Delighted to hear you are all set! If you would like, you are welcome to share your file here to illustrate the adjustments you made, as that could help others who are facing a similar issue. :)
