Re-usable Library?

Is there a way to build out a library of re-usable content, beyond Slide Master layouts that is.

Example -  You build a set of rollover buttons, and you could apply change to all instances from a central location  ( same way as Slide Master works, but at the content level ).

Trying to figure how to manage content development so there is a minumum of redundant work.

Any help would be appreciated.
