Real Time calculations with sliders
Sep 04, 2020
Hello,
I have successfully built an interactive chart using sliders to capture how many hours per week an individual spent on specific tasks. It was asked of me to include a total at the bottom of the slide. The kicker, the total should be calculating "in real time" as individuals complete each task recording their hours.
I know how to include the total on a different layer, but I can't figure out how to make this a "in real time" calculation.
Make sense?
Anyone have any suggestions? One of my colleagues mentioned something about variable scripting, which I do not have any knowledge about.

That`s quite easy to do, see attached a quick example with three sliders. Moving any of the three sliders toggles a TrueFalse variable. Whenever the value of this variable changes, I`ll do a simple calculation to add up the three slider values and store the result in a numeric variable (Total). Hope that helps.
Hi! thanks for an god exampel. I wonder? if i for exampel vant to change the calculation from adding up to dividing. how do i do that?
Hi Kennet,
I'm not sure what you are trying to create, but you certainly can adjust 'add' to 'divide' if needed.
Here's a quick Peek 360 video using the sample that Michael shared above.
thanks so much Leslie! Kennet
