Recognition of text input

Apr 19, 2018

I am new to using Articulate 360 and having to come up to speed rapidly. When we are creating simulations, the user may be asked to enter some text in a field e.g. entering MyName in the field. The next action in the live system may require them to click on a button, press TAB, etc.

In the simulation, when they enter the text, the user is being required to press ENTER before Articulate recognises the text entry. This is not ideal and I am wondering whether there is another way for Articulate to recognise whether the text has been entered and if it is correct.

Regards,

Ian

Hey Ian!

Storyline requires the "control to lose focus" for the text entry to be recognized. In other words, the learner will need to "move away" from the text entry, either by pressing the Enter key, pressing the Tab key, or clicking somewhere outside the text entry box.

Do you have a sample file going? If you can share it here, I can take a closer look at what you've got so far and point you in the right direction!
