We have been trying to record a piece of Storyline content that we have developed, but the sound is appalling! Can someone shed some light on this problem? Thanks.
I'd say if you aren't sure, try turning off your computer's mic or speakers before doing the recording. If that doesn't fix it, then it's time to move on to something else. No need to look for "optimized settings" if that's not the issue.
There are some tips here for audio quality settings in your recorded narration, but as Russ mentioned I'd also look into the mic you're using. You'll also want to make sure you're working on project files as described here.

Is it picking up the speaker sounds and feeding it back in using the computer's onboard mic? That would do it.
Not sure. Are there some tried and tested optimum settings that anyone can recommend?

Hi V,
