Is there a way to record data entry (typing text into a field) and add it in a project as step-by-step mode? It looks like it's recording when I try this but then doesn't add the slides once back in Storyline 2?
The application is an online web-based application and I connect remotely to a desktop and then the company intranet to access it. I CAN record typing in Microsoft word, Internet Explorer etc.. and it enters it just fine, so apparently it's b/c it's a web based or I'm accessing it remotely??
I've read a similar post asking this same question (or similar) and I've done all of the fixes, downloads etc... and nothing works. If I enter it as a "video", it works fine-but that's not how I need it in the project.
It may be that the way you've connected to this set up is not allowing the data to be transmitted to Storyline for step by step recording. You may want to try through a different browser, for example I know Internet Explorer tends to report more information than Chrome to Storyline. I suspect it has more to do with connecting remotely than being web based, so if you're able to have it directly on your system that may allow for better results.
Thank you. I think it is because I'm connecting remotely. I am able to record data entry via IE and local apps but not on the app remotely. I'll use a workaround if I can't get access to the system directly.
