I don't run Storyline in a virtual machine, but I have run Presenter that way without any audio problems while recording. I have heard of various scenarios where there was some additional noise while recording and it's typically solved by something easy and occasionally random such as ensuring your laptop is plugged in, instead of running on battery power. There are some additional recording best practices in this blog post.
