Recording Sound

I'm struggling with recording sound in my 30-trial version of Storyline. I tried recording just through my laptop -didn't work. So I purchased a microphone (USB port) and plugged it in. It shows ready to use. However, when I tried with the microphone, it still doesn't work. My audio files save, but they are just flat line. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks Victoria. If you are able to record audio in other applications and the issue simply lies with the Storyline 2 software, a simple repair may be able to correct your issue. Also, please make sure your project files are located on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior due to latency.
