Region Zooming for Diagrams

Jun 13, 2022

Hi community!

I am designing a flowchart diagram in Storyline for my boss (a surgeon) that would allow for zooming in and out to demo multiple paths to successful surgery. The goal is to have a working interactive model that the prospective patient can play with.

The issue I'm having is that the diagram that was given to me is vertical and flows from top to bottom in branching bubbles. I've only deigned the first couple slides because I don't want to to get to deep before finding a better and more efficient way to zoom in and out.

Zoom regions in the dimensions I'm working with don't really seem to work as well as I'd like them to. I can seem to crop the slide using the dimensions that I'd like. To compensate, I created an animation trigger that would grow the desired icon after the zoom in completes so that the user can read the magnified text and arrows indicating path options.

Please let me know if you can imagine a better way to do this. I've considered changing the orientation of the diagram to flow from left to right, but not sure what those dimensions would be when working with this diagram. I was also going to use a master slide to build the diagram, but after playing with it, I sort of gave up.

Any ideas/advice are welcome!
