You can't remove the button, you can only disable it when a layer is displayed. One option is to use a variable that is set to True whenever a layer is called and set to false when the baselayer is displayed. Then, add a condition to the Next button's trigger so that it only jumps to the next slide if this variable is false. See attached a quick example.

I add conditions to the "Next" button that it will advance only when buttons that trigger each layer have been "visited."
