Is this in the Storyline player menu? Did you import these quiz questions from a Quizmaker project? It sounds like the Quiz player setting to show correct/incorrect carried over - and you'd have to turn that off here from Quizmaker prior to importing.
The quiz is made from a Drag and Drop Freeform. I don't know why the Quiz Status for Wrong and Correct icon will display in the Menu after navigating to the next slide.
I hadn't seen that before in a Storyline file, but it looks similar to what you'd see in Quizmaker. Are you certain this file wasn't originally created in Quizmaker - as there isn't a way to enable that check mark in the menu from inside Storyline?
I imported the slides into a brand new .story file and that removed the player element that was lingering. You'd need to reset items such as the logo and colors if you were using that method as well.
You are correct. Moving that items into a fresh Storyline file will solve the issue, but I have a lot of slides within that file. Once moved into another file, I need to recreate the Menu, cleaning out other items in the menu which I don't like.
I can't figure out another way that it could have been included in the player menu - was the player something you created yourself or did you download a player template?
i had a customer with the same problem. They created everything in SL360 and the Icon appeared. It seems to be a bug in the player, you can fix it by exporting your Player, then open the player.xml and edit the following fields:
I notice that when the Quiz item is within a Sub Topic on the Menu, It won't show the Tick Mark. If the Quiz Item is within the First Level on the Menu, the Tick Mark will show. Is this a Storyline Bug?
This sounds familiar to another issue I've seen recently where if you use a slide title as a Header in the Menu and delete the other header on the menu, once you answer the quiz (correctly or incorrectly), the corresponding check mark or X mark will appear beside the slide name on the menu.
This is something we're only seeing in the HTML5 output and we've reported it to our team as a possible software bug. I've included this discussion as a part of that report and if you're seeing something different let me know and we'll want to take a look at your project file.
Thanks so much for this! I too ran in to this issue despite never using quiz maker before (we use SL360 and built templates from scratch) but this seems to have done the trick
Hi is there a way to get the check marks in the menu if you want them in SL360. I noticed that if you use Presenter 360 they are present but not if you use Storyline.
It is on Quiz questions in the menu. If you answer the quiz question correctly there is a Green Check and if you answer it wrong there is a red X. It seems to be standard in presenter and not present in Storyline.
Hello, I'm trying to find out if there is a way to MAKE the red/green icons appear in the left menu in Storyline (opposite of the original post - I actually want them to be there). When the Review Quiz button is clicked, in Presenter, the red/green icons appear in the left menu. This does not happen in Storyline (please see attached). Is there a way to make them appear in Storyline? Thanks!

Hi Ashley,
The quiz is made from a Drag and Drop Freeform.

Storyline file as attached.
Hi Rex,
Thanks for sharing the file.

I never used Quizmaker by the way.
Anyway, thank you for your response.

I see this intermittently too. I don't use QuizMaker either.
Hi Chris,
I'm sorry you've run into this too! I'm trying to recreate it and I'm coming up empty.
Can you tell me a bit more about your courses?
If you can attach your file, I am happy to test that one!
Hi together,
i had a customer with the same problem. They created everything in SL360 and the Icon appeared. It seems to be a bug in the player, you can fix it by exporting your Player, then open the player.xml and edit the following fields:
this
<option name="enableresultsicons" value="true">
<options />
<properties />
</option>
to
<option name="enableresultsicons" value="false">
<options />
<properties />
</option>
and this
<EnableResultsIcons>true</EnableResultsIcons>
to
<EnableResultsIcons>false</EnableResultsIcons>
then import the player.xml in storyline and your checkmark problem is gone :).
Best regards
Marcus
Thanks for sharing your workaround, Marcus!
Thanks for the code hacked Marcus and to the STAFFS.
Hello Again,
I notice that when the Quiz item is within a Sub Topic on the Menu, It won't show the Tick Mark.
If the Quiz Item is within the First Level on the Menu, the Tick Mark will show.
Is this a Storyline Bug?
Hi Rex!
What version of Storyline are you utilizing?
Hi Rex,
This sounds familiar to another issue I've seen recently where if you use a slide title as a Header in the Menu and delete the other header on the menu, once you answer the quiz (correctly or incorrectly), the corresponding check mark or X mark will appear beside the slide name on the menu.

Glad this helped you out too Emma!
Hi all,
I wanted to let you know that the issue with the checkmarks appearing on quizzes is fixed as of the latest Storyline 360 update v3.8.13184.0.
To ensure you have the latest update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline. Details here.
Please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.
Any resolution of this issue for Storyline 3?
Hi Nitesh,
This should be fixed in Storyline 3 Build 3.2.13213.0. Are you using that version? To check, click Help >> About Storyline.

Hey Andrew,
Can you tell me more about what kinds of slides you would like to add check marks to? When do you want the check marks to appear?
While this isn't a feature in Storyline currently, there may be a workaround that the community can share with you. 😊
It is on Quiz questions in the menu. If you answer the quiz question correctly there is a Green Check and if you answer it wrong there is a red X. It seems to be standard in presenter and not present in Storyline.
Thanks for clarifying Andrew.
Those indicators are certainly a feature that you can utilize during your quiz review, but as Alyssa mentioned not a part of the menu.
Hopefully someone in the community will chime in to share their design idea for this.

I am also looking for such functionality. How can we have it?
Hi there, Modassar. Those icons aren't a function of the Storyline player menu.
Does anyone in the community have custom menu ideas for quiz questions?
