I have added audio to my storyline 2 presentation. There is a slight humming sound in the background. Not sure why it's there since there was COMPLETE silence when I recorded it. Is there anyway to remove background noise in Storyline 2? This is just audio, no video.
Storyline's editor only gives you basic editing functions. You can remove the humming in between audio pauses by highlighting the offending part and inserting silence.
If the hum is throughout your audio clip then you would need to use an audio program to filter it out. There are some free audio editing software packages out there that can do it.
As far as the hum itself goes there could be multiple culprits. You can try setting different property options on your microphone, try plugging all your external devices into a single power bar to help eliminate electrical interference, and its possible you could simply have a bad cord or plug connection for the mic you are using. Try something simple like plugging it into the back of your pc vs the front port or using it to record on another pc. That might help isolate the hum issue.
In Audacity you can select a small section of sound where you only hear the hum, then use Tools> Noise Reduction> Get Noise Profile. Then hit Ok. Then select the whole clip and go backto Noise Reduction and then hit Ok.

One of those free programs that can do this is Audacity.
Good call Walt! I forgot to include an option. One of our guys uses Audacity and he really likes it.
Jessica, If you get your audio recording to clear up post a follow up and let folks know what you did to correct it.
