I have created a question using the sequence drop-down option and i am trying to work out how to remove a selection from the list once they have chosen it for an earlier drop down.
any ideas - hopefully you understand what i mean with this
There is not a standard way to change the way this question behaves, but if you are only looking to match items one-to-one, perhaps a Matching Drag and Drop or a Sequence Drag and Drop would work for you?

I tried the sequence drag and drop only to have it fail once published. The question would disappear and the sequence drag and drops only appeared once I ran my mouse over the top of where they should have been.
No change in this behavior as of yet, but as for your sequence drag and drop working, it sounds like something we'd want to take a look at. Are you able to share a copy of your .story file here with us?

I would need to recreate the file. I changed it to include the sequence drop-down and removed the other. Let me see what I can do...
