Removing the SKIP NAVIGATION Feature from Accessibility Courses
Jul 31, 2018
Hi there,
I'm building out a 508-compliant course, and we are at the final stretch of delivery. We've managed to iron out a lot of the trials and tribulations as we moved through development, but recently we received some feedback that Storyline's "Skip Player Navigation When Tabbing Through Elements with a Screen Reader" isn't working for some folks when using a Mac. Other users on Windows 10 have expressed that they don't find it particularly helpful, and have even commented that it's very "annoying" to have it read at the end of every slide. Since it's an hour-long course I could understand the complaint!
Please let me know if anyone has any kind of code snippet they could share or advice for de-activating this feature in Storyline. I've already reached out to tech and added a feature request for author's to turn off this setting.
Browsers used: Edge, Chrome, Firefox and IE 11
Platforms: Mac & Windows 10
Screenreaders: NVDA & JAWS.
Thank you!
