Renumber Slides

Hello. I have a course with about 34 slides in it. I've been moving them around quite a bit and now they are out of order numerically. This isn't a problem except that occasionally it appears that a slide will add a "jump to next slide" trigger which then throws the Story View out of whack. Is there a way I can renumber the slides so that they are in the "new" correct order?

Hi Alicia,
Even if you've added a trigger to adjust a variable - Slide122complete - the trigger should still work as long as the adjustment is still occurring on that slide and the variable is present and accessible. The number that you titled your variable does not have any impact on how the slide itself is numbered within Storyline.
If you're numbering is off within the menu, you can renumber the menu by resetting it from the story as described in this tutorial - and remove the slide numbers there all together.
Tracy,
Thanks for the video! It helped quite a bit and I was able to get the order in the menu fixed for my learners.
Glad that this thread is still assisting users Duane :) Thanks for sharing.
This issue needs to get corrected. Those numbers are the slide IDs that are also reported to the LMS by the SCORM standard.
Thanks
Hi Oscar! Are you having an issue that we need to take a look at? If you have moved your slides around and they are now 'out of order', you can certainly reset the menu.
If you make changes to your menu and then decide that you want to reset the menu back to its original state, click Reset from story below the menu.
Here is our tutorial. Walt explains it pretty well here as well.
This is exactly the situation that I'm in. We are still using storyboards for client review. With Articulate 360 that situation goes away. But for now, very confusing for the client as they would like to see the natural flow of their project.
Hi Kairas,
This discussion is a bit older, but if you need help with something just let us know!
Hello,
This thread is old but I came upon it when I was looking for a solution to the same problem. However, I also stumbled upon a solution on my own (because I didn't want to do the cut and paste process). For what it's worth, I would like to share it here.
To fix the slide numbering in the menu, do the following:
Hope this helps.
Thanks Tina - always good to have an updated answer here so I appreciate you sharing.
Hi Adena
I know your post is old, but I wanted to thank you. I have a simple project where, after the main content, users can choose to view three how-to videos or just exit. Because of the slide order the menu didn't make any sense; your steps were exactly what I needed!
That's great news Maryanne :) Thanks for chiming in to share that this thread was able to help you as well.
Hi Maryanne,
You bet! Great to hear that it was useful to someone else.
Cheers!
Hi, almost 5 years, did anyone find solution for this?
Hi Henat,
Storyline has yet to add a feature where you can insert a slide number so you'll want to use one of the methods mentioned earlier.
...seriously? this hasn't been addressed?
I agree with Kyle. When I preview my project, the slides come as they're supposed to but they way they're listed on the viewer on the side is completely out of whack and I can't seem to make it go in logical or sequential order. And yes, I have a whack of this or that interactions.
It's ridiculous that this hasn't been addressed. 8 years and counting?
