Replacing icons on Articulate 36o slide templates, without losing interactions/triggers

Sep 04, 2018

Hi.

I'm new to using Storyline 360 and have found the slide templates a really helpful way to get started. However, I can't figure out how to replace icons in the template without losing the relevant interactions/triggers.

I'm able to replace the pictures on the slide templates very easily, by right clicking on the image and clicking on 'Change picture'. But there doesn't seem to be an equivalent menu option to change an icon. The only way I've been able to replace icons is by deleting the icon in the template and then clicking on the insert ribbon and inserting an icon that way. However, by doing this the relevant interactions/triggers previously associalted with the icon have been deleted as well.

This leaves me with a situation where, for example, if I click anywhere on a tab I'm taken to the next slide, except when I click on the icon that is part of the tab. I've tried grouping the icon with the tab but this doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Can you help? Thanks!

Without seeing the template I'm having a stab in the dark but does the change picture option not work for the icons too?

Alternatively, perhaps the icons have been added to a shape as a 'Picture or Texture Fill', see just past midway in this article: https://community.articulate.com/series/4/articles/fill-formatting-in-articulate-storyline-2
