Replacing reference text with image

Sep 20, 2016

Two questions no that I am back building courses again;

1.  Can you replace the Reference link with an image?  If yes, how?

2.  Can I easily set up an Articulate avatar to appear to talk in synch with voiceover file? If yes,  how?

Thanks everyone,

Ben

Hey there Ben.  Welcome back to the game.  :)

1.  So, when you say reference link, is this a hyperlink that you'd like to set up in your course?  You can certainly attach a "jump to URL" trigger to any object in your slide.

Or, maybe you mean a variable reference?  In which case you'd like the reference not to be text (like showing somebody's name throughout the course when they enter it into a text entry field at the beginning), but an image instead?  I suppose you can have different, initially hidden objects in your slide that will display and/or change state based on what the variable does.

2.  When you say Articulate avatar, are you referring to a character to travel through the course with the learner?  What you could do, in that case, is trigger state changes for the character in accordance with cue points that you determine throughout the audio.  It won't be a completely animated person talking, but it will bring some life to your character.  This post is older and deals with Storyline 1, but it illustrates the gist of what I'm describing.  Here's a blog post that discusses using animated characters; it is also older, but might spark some ideas for you.

If you'd like to attach an example of your project in your reply, we can take a closer look!
