I published a course with tracking option pass/fail, when a user fails a course SumTotal reports the user has "Attended" the course. We want the user to be "In Progress" for the course and not show "Attended". Is there any way we can configure in SumTotal as the course is already published and assigned to users.
We use SumTotal. If the tracking is set to complete/incomplete in Storyline then the LMS reports "In Progress" when they fail the course (or exit early).
You'd think that SCORM would mean something when really the standards are set by how the LMS decides to interpret.
Thanks for the update. We are going with the Pass/Incomplete option, but for the learning activities created in the LMS, we have requested SumTotal if they can change the value of "Failed" to "Incomplete". SumTotal claim that they are receiving status as "Complete" from Articulate even if the user has failed the course.
If you'd like to do some additional testing on what SumTotal is receiving or should be receiving you could test your course at SCORM Cloud. It's an industry standard for testing LMS content. Additionally you could look at using LMS debug mode to see what information is being passed back and forth from the LMS and the Storyline course.

hi Ravi,
I'm not familiar with the settings in SumTotal, but have you reached out to your LMS team to investigate this further?
