Reporting Variables through a Results Slide to an LMS

Mar 30, 2015

Hi,

I've searched this forum for answers and find nothing recent. I found this site/post, which is great if I needed to pass text variables.  http://www.articulate.com/support/storyline/reporting-storyline-variables-to-an-lms

I see some posts about JavaScript, but I have no idea what to do with that, and most conversations are two years old. Has SL created an option to easily report numeric variables to an LMS?

Thanks for any support you can provide! :)

Hi Karen,

There is not yet an option to easily pass the numeric variables as there is for the text option. The Javascript options are all created by the community and a great alternative if you're able to write your own javascript or use what the community has already crafted. It's not something I'm equipped to assist with though, so I'll have to defer to the community for assistance here.

Hi Ashley,

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I can't write my own JavaScript, soooo....  guess I'll figure out another way to do what I need to do, sans numeric variables.

I'm creating branched scenarios with multiple good, better, best options. Initially I planned to give good 1 point, better 3 points, best 5 points and score their responses based on those variables. I need to determine what "passing" is and report that to an LMS. Have any of you created three possible answer branch scenarios using text variables or any other method for that matter? If so, I am open to suggestion. :)
