Requested features that were included in SL2

Sep 23, 2014

Hello,

I had a quick look at SL2 and was quite disappointed to see the timeline behaves exactly the same as SL1 (no scrubbing that is).

If I understand correctly, we now have to wait for SL3 to get any new feature implemented.

As you often ask us to make feature requests, could you give us the list (top ten if too many ?) of the most popular requests that made it to SL2 and maybe the most popular whishes that did not and why ?

A little feedback on those requests could motivate me and certainly others for the next ones !

Thanks !

Hi Pierre,

The seekbar within SL2 does allow for you to enable it as a read only seekbar - therefore the user can't scrub through it.

The list of new features and added elements are included here, and items like video compression, negative scoring, dockable panels, new languages, motion paths, etc. were definitely hot topics in the forums.

Hi Ashley -

I think Pierre is referring to the timeline in the authoring environment. Live scrubbing that only shows what's under the playhead and provides live hints of audio is something us old Flash developers and video editors are used to I have my fingers crossed for a future point release adding fluid timeline scrub behavior.

Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed until that point release. Hard to type, walk, and see

I agree with Pierre that ST2 was a bit of a disappointment. Some new cool features for sure but many annoying things (like scrubbing when pressing space bar):

Here are some other things I thought should be included in ST2:

Possibility to copy zoom regions from one slide to another (or at least possibility to set values to height and width)

Possibility to intend more than one list item in the TOC

No blurry html5 output any longer

Shorter time when publishing. Instead publishing time has become loooonger

Possibility to edit Invalid feedback from master slide

And then on the wish list: Mac version

These are my personal top 7 of course, but to see the top ten whises that made it into ST2 would indeed be interesting.
