Required Reading

Mar 20, 2015

Hi guys! I need some suggestions. I'm creating a course that's pretty text heavy. There are some laws and regulations that I need to reference but I don't want to include that verbiage in the course. I wonder if there is a way to force the participants to click on a link before being allowed to move on.

For example: When sites want you to read documents that they've either embedded or linked to, you have to check the box saying you read it and open the link before continuing.

Do you think Storyline is capable to doing something similar?

If not, I can link to the documents in the resource section, but I still want the learners to have to click something stating they opened the link before moving on.

Thanks!

Hello Cindy,

One thing you could do is set the next button to disabled until they click on the text references. You could either set the text as a hyperlink, or have it appear in a layer, whatever you prefer,

You can have the next button become Normal when they click on that text box. If you need them to acknowledge that they read the link, you could change the slide into a free form question and have them check an answer stating they read the item.

Attached is a basic file with 2 examples.
