Required Text Entry Question

Hello,
I have a freeform question text-entry question and I have disabled the Submit button so that the learner has to enter something. But I'm having a hard time changing the state to Normal. (I want to change the state to Normal once the learner starts typing). I'm trying to make it as simple as possible (especially as I'm giving directions on the screen). I don't want to force them to click outside of the box (lose focus).
Is that possible?

Hi Noelle,
I don't believe that it is possible to trigger an action when the user starts to type in a text entry box. However, the attached example will give you an alternative solution.
What I have done here is to leave the Submit button in its Normal state, but added conditions to when it is clicked. If the text entry box is blank, a message is displayed on a new layer to ask the user to enter an answer. This message then closes when the timeline ends for the layer (currently set to 3 seconds). If the text entry is not blank, the answer is then submitted and the user can continue to the next question.
Hope this helps, but if you have any questions, just get back to me here.
This looks great!!! And it's very helpful! I wonder if there is a way to tweak this so that the answer isn't graded. For my project, I'm asking learners their opinions.
You can use a survey question slide, or go to the slide's form view, and choose no results slide, or use a survey results slide, or go to the results slide, and don't include it in the list.
