I have a slide with numeric entry variables on - when the user returns to the slide, I want it to reset but if I set the variable to 0 when the slide starts, a 0 appears in the box rather than it saying 'enter number here'. Is there a way to set the variable back to blank rather than 0?
Thanks for following up! You can't adjust a numeric variable to be blank, but you can set the variable to be 0 when the user clicks on Numeric Entry.
This won't reset the value to 0 when the user returns to the slide, but I did find that when the user clicked on the numeric entry box, "Enter Number Here" returned instead of 0.
Thank you so much for attaching your .story file! I noticed that you're using layers rather than slides which could be the reason why previous numbers are displayed when highlighting the text entry field.
In your project, I've duplicated the slide and added a trigger to jump to the next slide when the user clicks "New Question". This will reset the data entry field which means you won't see previous numbers when highlighting!
I've walked through this in a short screen recording. Here's the link! You can find the updated .story file attached to this reply.
Thank so much for getting back so quickly. Really appreciate that!
As a matter of fact, I started my project having multiple slides but then quickly stumbled upon the amazing trigger of generating random variables to reduce the number of slides.
So, it seems like I can't use the same slide despite it having the functionality to create new questions within the same slide. That's a shame. I will revert to multi-slide model for now.
If I may suggest, please forward this issue to the relevant department for future debugging.

Hi Rachel!
Great question! To reset the variable to blank rather than zero, I'd recommend using this trigger!
Let me know if you still have any questions!
Hi, does this work for numeric variables as well?
Thanks

Hi guys!
I have created this interactive using random variable function. I have the trigger in place to set the value of NumericEntry to 0.
BUT...
the problem is that after clicking the next question button, when I select to clear 0, the answer to the previous question shows underneath 0.
I have searched a lot about this issue. but no luck so far! I have attached the project file as well. Please help!!!
