Reset Quiz Results

Jul 21, 2012

I have a quiz that can be taken more than once. When the user try 2 second attempt, a screen appears telling him that if he take the quiz again, his previous result will be reseted.

Everything happens as it should be, except for one thing. the quiz questions are not erased, the program continue showing the previous answer.

How can I reset the quiz result and the answers from the quiz?

Hi Alan,

Take a look at this thread here. It deals with resetting the quiz when the user clicks a custom retry quiz button. The button may not be what you want, but the trigger that is shown ought to be your answer.

Hope this helps,

Adrian

Im already using the trigger "reset results", but it doesnt clear the previus answers. I dont know why, but it clears only the first question, the others keep the pervious answers and I can answer them again.

I have a similar problem.  I have a custom retry button with a reset results trigger.  The learner is then returned to the beginning of the course and when they get to the quiz all the answers are marked from their first try and they can't be switched and can't move forward until they've passed.  Any help is appreciated.

I have solved my problem. Actually, there was nothing wrong, the problem is that I forgot to check all the questions in the options from the result slide. Hope that helps you too.

No I've checked that.  I even went back and set my question slides to reset to initial state when revisiting and it looked like it was working except that the correct/incorrect responses are showing for my first test not my second.  For example, the first time I took the test I marked A and it was wrong.  The second time I marked B and it was right.  It the review and at the results it shows that I selected the right answer but has the incorrect prompt at the bottom. Ughhh!

I'm having the same troubles as Cristy.  I'm using a question bank.. is that causing my issue?  When users take the quiz, get below a passing grade, they can click the "retake" button to retake the quiz.  But, as others have said, when they do that, the previous answers are already pre-populated.  The user must enter a new answer in order to continue.

How do I make it so the answers are wiped clean and a "brand new" test ( pulling from the same quesiton bank) is showed?

Thanks

Similar issue here.  I want the user to be able to take the quiz as often as they like, see their results, have the opportunity to go back and review the content and then take the quiz again.  Each time a user selects a Quiz option they are sent to a slide that provides brief directions and contains a Get Started button that takes them to the next slide (a question bank) and resets the results slide.  I've set the reset to initial state when revisiting on each question in the question bank.

I'd really like to keep the review results option in my design and don't want them to be able to Retry the Quiz from the results page until they go back and review the content.  It seems several folks had the same problem here but there wasn't a clear resolution.  Can anyone offer a solution?  This is all occuring in the preview mode if that make a difference.  Thanks.

I'm getting somewhere...  I had to change the order of my triggers on my custome button to Reset Result first and then jump to next slike (to begin the quiz again).  This cleared the review info from the slide but does not reset my quiz slide to the original "thpe your text here".  Instead, it displays the last text (answer) typed.

How it looks/not resetting the text enty info:

How i want it to look after resetting the Quiz Results:

 Any suggestions?  thanks.

Hi Denise,

This thread is a bit older, but in regards to your post - it looks like you're partially there. You got the Reset results trigger down, but did you check your slide properties? You'll want to have those to "reset to initial state upon revisiting." If you're looking for some further discussion on how to reset the fill in the blank, there are some suggestions in this thread by Nancy on how to ensure your quiz slides reset on a quiz retry. I also found another thread, where Julia reported that it only didn't reset when the fill in the black was a part of a question bank and offered the solution to:

In the Fill in the Blank question, add this trigger to the slide
