Reset Results on self-made quiz questions

Hi I have manually created quiz questions by adding free response boxes and then redirecting the user to a correct or incorrect slide layer based on their response. The incorrect layer has an error message and a continue button. I want the free response box to reset when the user clicks continue on the incorrect slide and have tried using reset results trigger on both the continue button and free response box with conditions. However, the reset results trigger panel will not allow me to assign a slide-it just keeps presenting unassigned slide.  Is there a way I can fix this?
