Is there a way to reset the state of items on a page back to their original state when the page loaded? I have a reset button and would like to have it reset values and radio buttons back to their original states when the page was loaded. Or other ways to do this without having to set a trigger to change the state on over 40 items manually?
There's a slide option which lets you determine how each slide behaves when someone revisits it. I believe the default is for Storyline to try to decide, but you can change that to have it reset to its initial state. That should take care of all the objects on the slide. If you have variables, you'll need to set those via triggers.
What if I want to have a reset button while they are on the page to click to reset the items? (so they are still on page and would click button to reset/recalculate items)
I ask because there are 40 radio buttons on the page and some calculations
You could reset the state of all the objects using the solution from my initial response and adding a trigger on the button to jump to the current slide (i.e. jump to itself). Then the "reset to initial state" setting will kick in.
You'll still stuck with having to reset the variables manually, though. I can think of a simpler way around that.
So glad that you were able to get the help you needed here Leisa and I appreciate you popping in to confirm.
I did want to let you know that your email signature came through when you replied via email. You can remove that if needed by clicking ‘Edit’ beneath your response. Here’s a quick Peek video if you need help.

Thank you, that works for revisiting the page

Thank you
then you would need triggers for each individual item to return it to normal or its starting state
Also to reset the variables

That is a good idea. I will give it a try. That saves me a lot of triggers :)
That did it. Thank you
That was easier than resetting 40 radio buttons state back.
