you're resizing the recording area for the screen recording, but that size isn't showing up afterwords.

 Is the recording scaling down?

 That´s right!

I adjust the size 1198x683, but afterwords i got a size of ~800x450.

I have chosen the step-by-step version ..

Thanks for your quick response!

It sounds like the video is scaling down to fit the size of the slide, itself. Does that sound right? Have you tried adjusting the story size to fit the video?

Yes, it does!

No, i have't, because the story size is certain. The story size have to be 1920x1080.

Now, when i tried to convert it in this proportion, i must record with a resolution of 2388x1359.

My screen is not so large :/.

But when i record full screen, the result is full screen (in the story size).

That speaks either for my count is wrong, or storyline doesn't scale it in the right proportion.

How can get the right recordresolution ?

Trying trying trying ?

Sorry for my bad english and thanks for your great help Christine!

Hi Manfred,

A little confused again, sorry.

You shouldn't need to re-record the resolution, try to resize the video or the story size to fit. If you'd like, you're welcome to post the .story file here, so I can take a look at it and see if I can get it to scale properly. If you're able to, just create a new, blank story file with the screen recording in it (you can do this by importing that single slide into a new project). Maybe I can get a better idea if I can look at what's happening!

Thanks again, Manfred!

Hi Manfred,

I was able to insert a step by step screen recording with the resolution you originally mentioned (1198x683) and it covers the placeholder you have in the file. Due to some advice from another thread, I set the story size to 1588x893. This seems to fix the problem.

I'm attaching the modified version (sorry for the silly recording, but it works!) if you want to check it out.

Thanks!

Good morning Manfred! I hope you had a great weekend.

For most videos, you can adjust the position on the slide. However with a step-by-step in view mode, the recording is not interactive and it's not possible to change the size or position of the screen recording when inserting in view mode. It doesn't even appear in the timeline. It would make a great feature request though!

Thanks!
