Resizing quiz answers placeholder issue

May 05, 2020

Hello, has this issue been addressed in an update, do we know? I'm working from home and waiting for a very busy company servicedesk to remote into my PC to give the Storyline update admin rights, so I'm not quite up to date yet;
I won't report it if it's already been fixed.

This issue occurs when I have a quiz question with too many answers to fit in the placeholder, so you get a scrollbar. When I then try and enlarge the placeholder by dragging the vertical scale handle, it 'pings' to this tiny size and throws everything out of whack. And you can't undo it.

If I try to manually adjust the height using the Format tab Size and Position fields (setting the height to 200px, for example), it just doesn't take effect - it's stuck at 38px.

Video attached. Thanks!

Hi Erin!

Thank you so much for sharing a screen recording of what you're noticing on your end!

I just tried to recreate this on my end and unfortunately, I didn't see the same snag. I'm currently on Update 39 (Build 3.39.21985.0). I've also looked to see if this has been reported as a bug, and we don't have any similar interaction submitted.

It would be helpful to take a look at the affected file. Would you mind sharing that with us?

You can either:

  • Add it to this discussion by using the Add Attachment button.
  • Upload it privately by using this link.

Either way, we'll take a look and share our findings with you!

Hi Erin,

Thank you for sharing your file!

When I tested the file you provided, I am seeing the same results when recreating that quiz question in your file. Oddly enough, if I tried to recreate this issue in a new file and I wasn't seeing the issue. Does this issue persist in a new file?

I would like our Support Engineers to take a closer look, so I will be opening up a Support Case for you. Please be on the lookout for an email from our team!
