I added a custom-named tab to the player. I want to rename the tab but the edit option is greyed out when i go back in through the player tab and highlight the tab. Probably something simple, but i can't figure out how to rename the tab! Help!
Hmm. That does seem odd. This is a tab you added manually, correct? This isn't an existing tab that's been modified? I can't see the entire list, so I can't tell if there's more custom tabs or if the "Notes" tab, etc. is still in the list.
It may be an issue with the file, or the template file. Again, I'd be happy to take a look if you can post the .STORY file. If not, you might want to try importing the course into a new Storyline project and see if you're able to add and change a custom tab.
Also, just for good measure, you may want to make sure you're working with local project files:
Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names (this includes spaces and underscores).

Good morning Rich! I hope you had a great weekend :)
Just wanted to check in with you and see if the tab is still causing a problem for you. If so, can you share a link to the page for the template, or your .STORY file?
I can try to take a look and see if I experience the same thing.

Hi there Rich!
What section of the player has the custom tab? Is there a check mark next to it, on the right-hand side?
If that check mark isn't enabled, you may not be able to use the "Edit" feature, even if the tab is selected.
If that doesn't help, are you able to share a screenshot or the .STORY file? I'd be happy to take a look.
Thanks!
Christine
Christine,
Here is the screenshot.
Hi Rich,
Thanks for the screenshot!

Christine,
Thanks. The title slide is from one of the templates Articualte posted on-line in the downloads. (The menu template). It may be corrupted.

Replying to this as it may help others:
To change a customized tab in the Player window go the Text Labels tab. Locate the item and then you can edit the title.
Hope this helps!
Thanks Brandy :) That certainly could be helpful for others needing to make this change.
