In Storyline 2, I am finding, that if a slide has multiple layers or any kind of clickable action (i.e. submit button, reveal button, layer button, alter state of button, etc.), the replay button does not do anything.
Is this just easily fixed by selecting a certain option that I am overlooking?
Thanks for reaching out! Is your slide set to "When revisiting: Automatically Decide"? If so and the slide contains any interactive elements, such as buttons or any other object that includes a visited or selected state, Storyline resumes at the slide’s current state if users view the slide more than once. Instead, you'll want to use the setting "Reset to Initial State". This means every time users view the slide, it will restart at the beginning of the slide’s timeline, and any interactive objects will return to their initial states.
Awesome. I'll try. Will this work without ever leaving the slide? Basically, once the slide ends and before moving on to the next slide, I am hoping clicking refresh will replay the slide.
I just realized, that I will have a variable set disabling the NEXT button until the slide completes. And it is important that when revisiting, that the NEXT button is activated. Having the slide Reset to Initial State will make this impossible, correct?
Reset to initial state will not change the value of your variable. So if you have a trigger (e.g. change the state of the Next button to disabled when the timelines starts if variable = x), that trigger will fire again when revisiting the slide, and the variable will be respected. That's the great thing about variables- they keep their place throughout the course until changed by a trigger!

Hi there Steven,

Give that a try, and let me know if it works!

Hi there, Steven! Regarding clicking refresh to replay the slide: the rewind button on the seekbar will play the timeline of the slide over if you have your slide properties set to reset to initial state.
Reset to initial state will not change the value of your variable. So if you have a trigger (e.g. change the state of the Next button to disabled when the timelines starts if variable = x), that trigger will fire again when revisiting the slide, and the variable will be respected. Thanks for that explanation Crystal. I'll go ahead and try it out.
