Restricted or Locked?

Jun 24, 2014

Hi there:

My client wants users not to be able to advance to next slide until audio completes. I've got that set up----but they still can get around it by clicking on the menu bar...if I want to make it so they can't click ahead in the course on the MENU bar, do I go to Player - Additional Options - then Navigation Restriction? Do I select Restricted or Locked?

Or am I totally off base? Thanks -- not used to working with such "regulated" content.

Thank you.

Hi Gabriella,

Does this definition, from this thread, help?

  • Locked — This prevents users from navigating away from the slide they're viewing, until the slide is finished. When the slide does finish, the user will only be able to move forward, not jump back to a previous slide.
  • Restricted — This prevents users from navigating to any slide ahead of one they're currently viewing. They can, however, jump back to a previous slide.

And there's a support page here on restricting navigation throughout a course.
