I have buttons on a layer and want the user to hear the complete voiceover before advancing on the next button in the layer. Does any one know how to restrict the user from advancing until after voiceover stops?
Personally, I would do this with a True/False variable and a condition on the "Next" button. You'd need a trigger to adjust the variable to True (set the initial value to False) when the media completes. When that variable is equal to True, the user will then be able to continue to the next slide or scene when they click the "Next" button.
Here's a look at how you could set this up:

Thank your help Christine.. My buttons are in in my layers with voiceover.. So I cant put it on next button.. I can't seem to do this on my layer buttons do you know another way? Thanks so much for your help..Elle
Hmm.. are you using custom buttons, then? Or are you wanting to move through multiple layers?
It may be easier to give some suggestions if I can see the file. I'd be happy to take a look. Are you able to post the .STORY file here, or send it over privately?
Yes Thank you.. these are custom buttons on each layer. The Learner is to click on each button but not until the voice over is completed. So I would like to restrict being able to click on the the list of buttons until the voiceover is completed... I have uploaded to file so you can have a look if needed.
Just wanted to check in with you on your course. I know Gren was working with you on the case, looks like he was able to send out some suggestions for getting this running for you.
If you're still having any trouble, or have any questions, please just let me know.
I am not clear about variables at all...I am trying to access a tutorial that provides an example or the importance of it...I already went thought the basic tutorial but I would like to see other examples...

Hi there Astrid! :)
If you can tell me what you'd like to do with variables, maybe I can give you some suggestions or work up an example file :)
There's quite a few tutorials. I'm not sure which one you've already seen, but I thought I'd share them just in case:

Thank you Christine..!!!
You're very welcome, Astrid! :)
