Restricting Navigation in Sequential Master Slides
Mar 11, 2020
I have developed two interactive master slides with triggers that prevent advancing to the next slide, until all layers have been visited. Both slides' triggers work individually. All markers or tabs must be clicked in each master slide to advance.
The issue: When placed in the same scene, only the slide placed first works correctly; the second slide does not. When they are rearranged, the previous second slide works perfectly now as slide one; however, the previous first slide does not work correctly as slide two (allowing all tabs to be bypassed on the master slide).
When these type of slides are placed in sequence, there must be a special trigger or state to add to the second slide for the triggers w/conditions to work, but I cannot seem to figure it out. Helps are appreciated. Thanks.

I'm away from SL right now, and can't look at it, but it sounds like you are using variables, which the first slide sets, and then they are already in the final condition when the second slide starts. If that is the case, you need to use unique variables for each set.
That makes sense! In the second slide I changed the variable name by adding an additional letter in the appropriate places, but that slide does not yet restrict navigation. I would appreciate a few more specifics about these variable changes. Thank you.

I experimented some more today in changing the variables, as well as add the state of “completed” to each marker in slide 2. That did not work, either. Any more advice (with these two similar slides side-by-side) in limiting the navigation until all markers have been visited?
I would have to look at the .story file before I could make any other guesses, if you can attach it here.
Thank you, but I was able to correct it. On slide 2 after I changed the default from true to false, it worked! Until next time…😊
