I'm using Articulate Storyline 2 to create a version of Heads Up that's made up of 4 rounds. Each round consists of 7 Pick One questions and ends with a results slide that should show the number of points accumulated in that round. I attached a timer to each results slide and have the timer starting once the first question of the round has started. The problem I'm running into is that if the timer ends prior to reaching the last question in the round, the amount of points displayed on the results slide is always zero (even if the questions that were answered were correct).
Is there a way to have the points shown on the results slide always be the number of points earned even if the timer runs out?
I'm new to Storyline so I'm hoping this is just me being new to the product.
Are there 4 separate results slides and then a master results slide to track them all? Where are you seeing the score not reflected correctly? It may be easier if we're able to take a look at the .story file you've set up and what the behavior is.
Yes. I have 4 separate results slides and then a master slide. Just a warning: The results slides are configured a little sporadically right now as I've been playing around to try and fix the issue. However, I still have yet to get it to give me a score if points were earned but the timer runs out before finishing the quiz question slides. Thank you for taking a look!
Thanks for sharing the file here. I did a few tests and let the timer run out - but if I had already answered a number of the questions "correctly" I still saw the points listed on the results slide and your final slide which showcased all the results variables.
Are you seeing the 0 results in a particular section/results slide? Are you testing this in preview or publish? If publish - are you testing in the intended publish environment or locally? Testing it locally could cause the course to not behave as expected.
I think I realized what the issue is... For the practice round, when the timer runs out, it jumps to the results slide for Round 2 instead of the results slide for the Practice Round, hence the 0 points. Would you be able to take a look at the attached story file and see if you notice anything weird with how I configured it? I made sure that the Practice Round results slide was connected to the Practice Round question slides and that the Round 2 results slide was not connected to the Practice Round question slides, but I think I'm missing something (probably something obvious). I'm attaching my updated file (different look but still the same issue). The issue is happening with Round 1 as well (jumps to Round 2 results slide instead of Round 1 results slide if the timer runs out).
I am testing this in Preview, so if you think that's what it is, I'll go ahead and publish. But if you'd be able to take a look and see if I did configure something wrong, I'd appreciate it!
