Results slide for quiz questions spread throughout a course

Jan 02, 2019

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help with this. I have a small course with 6 questions spread throughout the content made in Storyline 360. I've managed to get the quiz slides ONLY to appear in review by using the variables suggested by Sam Carter in this thread. https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/quiz-retry.

The problem I have is that the content slide following the quiz slide flashes briefly onto the screen during the review. I'm assuming this is because the below trigger works when the timeline starts so it has to show?

"There's a trigger, one trigger only, at the content slide following each question. Trigger on "beginning of timeline". If variable MyRetry is TRUE, branch to the next quiz question."

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. It's not the end of the world but it looks messy :)

Hi Siobhan,

The brief flashing you are seeing is expected, since the "timeline starts" trigger will take a fraction of a second to fire.

Have you considered using the new review only incorrect questions feature? When the learner clicks the "Review" button on the result slide, they'll only see the incorrectly answered questions. And what's more, there will be no "flashing" slides between those questions.

Give it a try, and let me know how it works out!

Hi Alyssa

I tried this but still got the flashing. I removed all the triggers I had added as suggested in the link I shared above to see if the new feature made them unnecessary but I'm back to the same problem. As the question slides are spread throughout the content, when I review the incorrect answers it doesn't just show the question slides. I have to work through all the content in between each question :(
