Results Slide for Storyline 3

Jun 20, 2019

Hello, I have a couple of very simple quizzes in my project that are not graded or timed. The user will have a couple of attempts and then the presentation will continue, rather they get it right or wrong.

I would like to add a results slide that simply shows the correct answers before they move to the next slide. I don't see how to do this. I saw a thread that explained the steps for Storyline 2, but the Results Slide properties have changed in Story 3 and the options are not the same.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Enya,

Happy to help! When you insert a results slide into your project, it should default to having a Review Quiz button. Try these steps to add in correct/incorrect feedback during quiz review:

  1. Double-click on the Review Results trigger.
  2. Click on the ‘Show correct/incorrect responses when reviewing’ box, then click OK.

This should allow the user to review their answers after completing the quiz. Let me know if this works for you. Also, check out this tutorial for more details on working with results slides!

Hello Ren.

Thank you for responding. When I double-clicked the trigger, the "show correct/incorrect" box was already checked. I feel so silly because I realized I was trying to test the button while in story view and not preview. Ugh! At any rate, it works fine.

Here's another question for you, is there a way to disable the audio when the results slide is viewed? When the user clicks the Review Quiz button, they are taken back to the quiz slide and the right/wrong answers are given. But, it also replays the audio with the quiz instructions and I want to disable that during review. I didn't see a trigger that would allow me to stop the audio only during review.

I hope that's clear and thank you in advance.

Hi Enya,

So glad you were able to figure it out, and great question!

There is a way to disable audio upon review by creating a true/false variableHere’s a similar thread I found where a user outlines how to create it:

  1. Create a true/false variable and call it 'Disable Audio' or whatever name you prefer and set the default value to False.
  2. Add a trigger to the 'Review Quiz' button in your results slide to adjust the ‘Disable Audio’ variable to True.
  3. Add a condition to the existing slide triggers to play the audio only if ‘Disable Audio’ equals False.

I've attached a sample quiz file that shows how to set it up, but feel free to scan the thread as well to see what other suggestions the community has given. Hope this helps!
