Results slide not reporting correctly

Jan 22, 2021

I have a quiz with one results slide that every question is reporting to. The results slide is set to calculate results for questions and every question slide is checked off and included, and the "Only score viewed questions" box is unchecked. However, when running through the course the results slide is only taking into consideration the slides that the student has viewed. In fact the final score/percentage and total score/percentage are calculated differently depending on how many slides you viewed (as opposed to totaling the score from all question slides). Has anyone else had this issue, and is there an obvious fix? I have another quiz that is set up the exact same way and it is working fine. There are no obvious differences between the two Storyline files.

Hey, Robin,

I played around and tried to reproduce the issue on my end but the result slide was acting as expected on my end. Since the issue is only happening on that specific project, it seems to be isolated. With that said, it is hard to imagine what's causing the issue without seeing the actual file. Would it be possible for you to send a sample .story file so that I can do some tests? You can remove the texts on the slides as long as you can still reproduce the issue when selecting answers on the question slides.

Jaycee

Greetings, Robin!

Thanks for sharing what's going on. We'd love to help, and I echo what Jaycee said.

Are you comfortable with sharing the affected Storyline file? It'll help us look into the reporting, and we'll delete it from our machines after.

Use this upload link to share the file privately with our Support team.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I can't share the content as it contains protected info for a client, but I appreciate your offer to look into it. We were able to solve the issue by copying the slides one at a time into a quiz that worked correctly and then using the results slide from that quiz instead. I agree Jaycee, there was definitely something wrong with that specific file. If I am able to share a stripped down version of the file with you I will do that - could be useful for troubleshooting purposes in the future.
