Results Slide Not Showing Scores

Aug 23, 2012

My results slide from some quizes are giving my "Success" and "Fail" message, but showing strange text or no score at all where the student's score and passing score should be.  I already checked the results slide to make sure the questions to be tracked are checked and the correct passing score is showing. And by the way, I imported the results slide and use it as a template because it has other features I want to be consistent. Somehow the score is the only thing not showing correctly. Any tips on how to fix?

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I am experiencing the same issue -- the scores (user and passing) do not show on the results slide. I have attached a copy the story file I am working on as an example.

Any guidance is appreciated!!

Hi Mindy, welcome to the community. Change the two text fields on the results slide's baselayer from "Results_2_2.xyz" to "Results_2.xyz" as shown below.

Hi Mindy and welcome to Heroes!

It looks like you're referencing the wrong variables for this results slide which can happen when you add in a results slide and then delete it, leaving behind the variables or if you've imported it from another project. You'll want to change it to reference the Results_2.ScorePoints or Results_2.ScorePercent.

Hi Adam,

The earlier situation here looked like it was referring to the wrong results variable on the slide itself. Are you not seeing the points in your slide or when viewing in your LMS? Are you able to share the .story file here with us and a bit more information about what the issue is in terms of where or how you're not seeing the score?

Thanks, Ashley... this has been an amazingly frustrating two days. I can
share my story privately if you'd like. Here's where I've found things
breaking:

1. Publish the story as SCORM 2004 for Docebo including HTML5 (for Safari,
not mobile yet)
2. Locally test the story.html file in IE, results slides show passing but
not correct points or percentage
3. Upload and test in Docebo in both Chrome and IE; results slides show
passing but not correct points or percentage
4. Locally test the story_HTML5 file, results slides show correctly.

So far, Docebo has shrugged and said they don't deal with content creators. There are no docs I've found on forcing either to use the HTML5 version. Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi Adam,

I'm sorry to hear about the frustration and always feel free to reach out to us early on! No need to go it alone - we're here in the forums, as is the community, and you can always get to our Support Engineers here.

So, it's the display of the scores - not their actual value being shared with your LMS? Again, without seeing the file it's hard to say - but you can share it direct with our Support team using that link above.

Additionally you'll want to confirm that you're working on local project files and testing in the intended environment vs. testing locally. Since you mentioned HTML5 I also did want to offer a reminder to test within a supported browser for HTML5 as well.,

Please let me know if you reach out to our Support team so that I can follow along.

Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem. My results slide is showing my "Success" and "Fail" message, but no score at all where the student's score and passing score should be.

Initially I thought it was because it was referring to the wrong results variable on the slide itself but i changed it and it didn't seem to fix it.

Hi Kay,

Are you able to add in a new results slide to track your questions and see if that one displays as expected? That has resolved it in the past for other users and is typically just an issue with the file/slide having an issue and not something consistently reproducible. If you're still having difficulty we'll want to take a look at the .story file.

Ashley Terwilliger-Pollard

Certainly understand Kay - I'd look at rebuilding it and see if you can copy and paste those necessary elements into your new results slide. Are you connecting the javascript elements to the results functionality? If so, you may want to share that snippet here so that the community could take a look as the Javascript is not something I'm equipped to assist with.

I'm having a similar issue: threw together a mockup using a likert scale slide with 5 numbers (would be questions), adding 'yes or no' selection for answers, added a result slide, 5 yes's is seen as passed on the results slide but shows 0 for the student's score.  When I select 'manage project variables' I notice my 'use count' is 0. I've checked out the link, and still can't work it out...having a 'dah' day.

Hey Sandy

see if the attached works for you.  I have recreated the slide as a Freeform Pick Many and it is now reporting correctly on the result slide.

My understanding is you can't grade survey slides as there is no where to add 'points' in the form view.

Hope the attached helps or gives you an idea.
