Results slide only considers submissions from base layer - how to include a correct answer from a secondary layer?

Apr 13, 2017

Hello community!

I want to make a quiz, and am using freeform slides for this quiz (multiple choice).

Because the standard format did not give me the options I want, I created layers for both 'correct' and 'incorrect' -answer paths.

If you click the right option, a layer tells you that you did well, and you proceed to the next question.

If you click the wrong one, you go to a layer that tells you you did not do well. After this, you are linked to a layer with identical layout as the first one, containing the questions and the answers. If you answer falsely again, you are sent to a fourth layer, which tells you you do not get another chance and have to proceed to the next question.
(I did on purpose not link back to the base layer, because it was somehow difficult making the base layer send the user to the next question after two attempts..)

The problem is now, that the results slide, based on Results.ScorePoints, counts the number of correct answers based on the Base layer.

I would like the results slide to also call a result as correct (ie. to give points) when the user has answered correctly at the second try (on the layer).

I think the following may solve this, but please feel free to suggest more options:

What kind of variable can I set up to count the 'Continue'-clicks on the 'Correct'-layer (which only appears after correctly answering, whether it is the first or second try), and how can I subsequently link this variable to display the right data on the results slide?

I hope you are able to help us out. Thank you very much in advance!

[Please excuse the fact that I did not attach the specific document, this is related to corporate compliance.]

All the best and kindest regards,
Patrick

Hi Patrick

Two possible solutions that I can think of.

1. Make your layers into their own slides so you can capture the answers in the default variable.

2. You could use the solution I posted in the below thread. Their question isn't exactly like yours, but the solution I mentioned should work here for you as well with a few minor adjustments.
