"Resume saved state" versus "Reset to initial state" when moving back and forth between scenes

Aug 29, 2019

I have a course that I recently developed that had a slide which served as a table of contents. The slide links to 4 scenes and in the slide triggers panel, I have indicated the scenes the course would be linking to when a user clicks on any of the 4 images as shown below.

I have likewise created Disabled states for these four images, and there is a trigger to set the state of an image to Disabled when the image is clicked.

The problem is that when the scene ends, it asks the user to return to this and now all the options are clickable again. I have tried both "Resume saved state" and "Reset to initial state" options for the slide but in either case, once the user is returned to this slide, all four options are clickable once more. It's like the Disabled state isn't remembered.

I have a trigger to advance to the next slide (a conclusion slide) when all four images are in the Disabled state. Because none of these four go into that state, the slide does not advance to that conclusion slide, and the course does not end.

What can I do to resolve this?

Hi Jaybee,

I would be inclined very much to use four True/false variables, and set each to true as the user clicks, and before the trigger to jump to the other scene. I would then add triggers to set the disabled states to true for your images when the timeline starts for the screen, with the condition that the given variable is set to True.
