Resuming Course - Accidental No

May 22, 2017

During UAT testing of a course I am developing someone came across a scenario that I was hoping to get a little clarification on to make sure I am understanding the functionality correct.

If a user takes a module within a course and leaves. When returning if they click no, accidentally or not. All progress that they completed prior is reset.

The course is set up on restricted navigation and I have the slides set up to resume saved state. But from the reading I have been doing it does not look like this does anything if the user click No to resume, that resume state seems to apply if the user goes back the that slide while taking the course.

Am I understanding it correct that when resuming if a user clicks No, that they are basically saying they want to start over? We are using an SLK LMS and I have set it to prompt and ignore the flash cookie.

Hi Rich,

You hit the nail on the head! Clicking "No" on the prompt to resume will completely reset the course. It will be as if the learner never opened it before.

If you're worried about learners accidentally clicking "No", you could set the resume behavior to "Always Resume". Then the learner could use the player menu to return back to the first slide if they want to restart the course. In that case, the slides will resume in their saved state.
