Retain Visited States

Nov 09, 2020

I am creating an interactive menu or checklist.  I would like the checkmarks to retain their states when the learners come back to the module.  I tried variables and various states.  I selected the maintain states button on the slide properties.

I deleted the states. Am I missing something?

Hi, Chappel,

This post provides instructions for creating a custom-menu slide:

FYI: The "Reset to initial state" and "Resume saved state" functions are poorly named.

  • "Reset to initial state" replays the timeline from the beginning. This does not actually change the state of objects, and it doesn't reset variables. (If the timeline includes triggers to change a state or adjust a variable, those will re-execute.)
  • "Resume saved state" restarts the timeline from its most recent position. If it had been paused, the timeline will continue playing from that point. If the timeline had already completed, then nothing replays.
